How are people motivated?

Dan Pink contends that rewards will not improve performance when it comes to solve problems which require creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. Instead, he suggests that the three important elements related with high performance on the “definitional tasks of the XXI century” are autonomy, mastery and purpose.
